Cute James Through June

As I was going through the pictures from June, there are so many of James being super cute.

These first few are of us just enjoying an evening in the front yard here in Provo.

He is growing, and this month he jumped from 2nd %tile in height to 23rd %tile!!
That is HUGE (double meaning there:) )

He is also cruising along everything now, from the cabinets to chairs to
the walls, toys, toilets (scratch that last one), well anything. So here are some cute pictures of our Jamers.
I didn't want to be selfish so I decided I should share.

These next few pictures were taken with Aubreigh, Matt, and Quinn up in Heber. James doesn't really like the texture of grass on his legs, so he has a sort of Mogalie-from-The-Jungle-Book-crawl.

A Fire Up the Canyon

A fire up the canyon with Jason and Nicole! We made tin foil dinners, hot dogs on a stick, and corn on the cob, all over the coals. James loved the sticks and the fire, I'm not sure which was his favorite. We went up to Big Springs National Park.

I Just Hiked the Y...

...and I don't have any pictures to show for it :( Somehow the camera was left, and we didn't realize it until we were at the top! Kristie called me and wanted to know if I wanted to go hiking today. It was perfect today, overcast, a little breezy, perfect. And she is due on Friday, and our house is going to be done in one week, so it felt very appropriate to go on a hike. And I don't have any pictures. That is okay, we talked about all sorts of things, James was in his carrier, and Lady was well behaved. It reminded me of this post last year. Then I found it quite appropriate that Kristie should be hiking the Y right before she delivers Lilah, just as I had last year with James. Maybe it will work for her too and that baby will just slip on out. Hopefully.

I've been feeling very nostalgic these last few days. I never thought that I would want to stay in Provo, but now with time quickly approaching that we'll be leaving, I don't want to go. I won't be able to just go hiking with Kristie anytime she calls because we'll be over an hour away. It just gets to me. I voiced my feelings last night to Nathan on his way home, and though he likes it in Provo too, and wants to make me happy, a shorter commute is what he needs to keep a sane mind for the moment. So to take advantage of our time here, we went to the Bean Life Science Museum at BYU. Awesome place, they've redone a lot since the last time I was there. And it turns out James is now afraid of things with large mouths or something. Either way when we held him up to see the HUGE Kodiak bear they have, he screamed. So we did it again (because we were curious if he was scared or just screaming, and we needed a picture)

and then he screamed AND whimpered. Looking at the picture, I'd scream too. What were we thinking? Afterwards he clung to Nathan, he was okay looking at the smaller bears behind the glass (and they were Grizzlies!).

He was also scared of the lions and the leopard. Something about the big mouths and teeth. We felt bad, and it was so light out still, so we went over to the Creamery on Ninth, waited in the ridiculously long line, and ordered a scoop of peanut butter trails ice cream.


Loved it! James loved it too. I think he forgave us for holding him up to multiple animals to see if he was scared. Ice cream=no hard feelings :)
And that is just a smidgeon of the reasons why I will miss Provo.

James is Growing!

James is just a cutie! He is getting more personality everyday. At his last checkup he was:

Height: 26.5 in (2nd %tile)
Weight: 14.5 lbs (0 %tile)
My little baby is just that, little. He was barely off the charts, so we had a weight check this month.
After James got over his flu, he ate and ate and ate. He hasn't stopped downing the formula. Now:
Weight: 16.5 lbs (1st %tile)
He's back on the charts. I'm not worried though, he's little, but healthy, and reaching milestones normally (he'll be walking here pretty soon we think).
He's cruising on the furniture, pinches things between his fingers wonderfully, smiles at everyone, and yesterday, June 2nd, he learned how to click his tongue. So cute. He also has a turbo crawl, and is fast. James has learned to climb the stairs, but can't come down yet, so we watch him. James has five teeth, 3 top, 2 bottom, with two more coming in right now. He is curious about everything around him, and we love him so.

Farm Visit

In May we also made a trip up to the farm to visit Grandpa and Grandma Haworth. My little sister Kirstin showed in a dog show in Logan, so she asked if she could stay there as well and then go to Logan each day. It was fun finally showing her the farm. We got to visit with Grandpa and Grandma, Mike and Misty, and Nathan's Aunt Debbie and Uncle Doug. It will be fun living closer to the farm once we move. I'm helping Misty set up a blog, so soon they'll be on the side bar! Yeah! Check out the pictures from our visit:

...and our nephew Tyler, has grown a foot or two, literally :) We were there when he opened his call and he is going to...

I have to say that my first thought was where in California is Colombia, I thought that was a country, and isn't that where all the drug lords are?


My sister Ann was freaking out, but still so happy at the same time. I don't think there were many dry eyes there that night.

Tyler is such an amazing young man, and a wonderful example to James. He has made all the right decisions in his life to be able to now serve the Lord for two years on a mission. We are all excited for him! Love you Ty!
